How Many District in Meghalaya?
The state of Meghalaya in northeastern India is divided into 12 districts. These districts are further grouped into three administrative divisions. The initial two districts formed when Meghalaya separated from Assam in 1972 were United Khasi Hills & Jaintia Hills district and the Garo Hills district. Over time, the state government has carved out new districts to better administer the state.
